The New York Buyers’ Club, greater New York’s source for nutritional supplements for people with HIV, hepatitis, and other chronic conditions, announces the release of the New York Buyers’ Club Catalog & Treatment Guide. The publication of this unique, interactive “e-book” makes available a wealth of important information culled from many resources, ranging from clinical studies to personal experiences, and serves as an important resource for understanding the best strategies in nutritional supplementation for people with HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and other chronic illnesses.

Many issues are addressed in the New York Buyers’ Club Catalog and Treatment Guide, including:
How do I decide which dietary supplements to take?
What’s the value of a multivitamin if I’m HIV+?
What are antioxidants and why are they important to my body?
How about supplements to help manage diarrhea or nausea?
What supplements have been studied to control blood fat problems, liver dysfunction?
What supplements might be useful in maintaining heart health?
Are there supplements that help deal with insomnia, depression, anxiety?

The New York Buyers’ Club was founded as a non-profit* community co-op in 2004, filling a void left by the demise of DAAIR (Direct Access Alternative Information Resources), seeking to improve public access to beneficial supplements and serve as a resource for information about these alternative therapies.

The New York Buyers’ Club takes a holistic, multi-faceted approach to health. Given the stress imposed by many prescribed treatment regimens for people with serious health concerns such as hepatitis, HIV, or cancer, it only makes sense to look at the available complementary and alternative means to slow disease progression, cope with side effects of medications, and improve quality of life along the way. Moreover, at this point there is a wealth of data documenting the value of complementary and alternative therapies. It is the goal of the New York Buyers’ Club Catalog & Treatment Guide to make this important information known to the widest possible audience of both patients and practitioners.

Once downloaded, the New York Buyers’ Club Catalog & Treatment Guide - an e-book in PDF format (requiring Adobe Reader, freely downloadable from Adobe.com) - becomes a fully-searchable database that includes hyperlinks to other resources, detailed information about the various treatment options, and suggestions on supplement usage.

The New York Buyers’ Club Catalog & Treatment Guide is available as a freely downloadable, interactive PDF publication from the organization’s website: www.newyorkbuyersclub.org.
